What I did: I wanted to find out more about rare minerals and I decided to do research about the rarest mineral on earth.

What I learned: The Pink Star Diamond and Painite are the world's rarest minerals.The Pink Star Diamond was found and mined in 1999 in South Africa.It weighed 59.6 carats(1 carat=0.2 grams).It has a value of  $1,395,761 per carat.Painite is a rare borate mineral and was first found in Myanmar.Painite has a value of $60,000 per carat.

Summary:The Pink Star Diamond has a value of $1,395,761 per carat and was sold for $83 Million.Painite has a value of $60,000 per carat.
