What I did:

I went online and searched for news regarding the US Presidential Elections 2016 and I found an article about a man who tried to assassinate presidential candidate Donald Trump.

What I learnt:

Strident: loud and harsh, grating/presenting a point of view, especially a controversial one, in an excessively and unpleasantly forceful way.

Summary and thoughts:

At a rally in America, a British man attempted to kill Donald Trump with a police officer’s gun while the man asked for his autograph. The man said that if he failed at that rally, he would try again at another rally. I feel that there had been many cases of violence against Donald Trump because what he says are usually insultive to others and thus caused many people to hate him. If he toned down a little, he might prevent such things from happening.
