What I did:

I decided to read up on some news on climate change and learn more on how to save the Earth. I found this article on turning carbon dioxide into rock, hence I decided to make a summary of the article and learn new words.

What I learned:

Words I learnt:
Anthropogenic: caused or influenced by humans
Benign: mild and favourable

Carbon dioxide can be injected into volcanic bedrock and carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced through mineralisation of carbon. Carbon dioxide is dissolved in water and carried down a deep well at the experiment site. On contact with the target storage rocks, at 400-800 metres under the ground, the solution quickly reacts with the surrounding basaltic rock, forming carbonate minerals.
Summary:

This article is about how carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced, the experiments done to prove this in Iceland, also the advantages and disadvantages of this solution.
