What I did: I read up on the recent news about the recent game.

What I learnt: The new game ,Pokemon Go caused accidents, new ways for robbers to wait at certain places for unsuspecting Pokemon Go players. A teenage girl also found a dead body while playing the hugely popular game.

What I did:
I searched up on what would happen if a grenade exploded underwater.

What I learned:
A grenade exploding underwater is far more dangerous than a grenade exploding on land.

Summary:
A grenade exploding underwater is far more dangerous as water is incompressible, so in an underwater explosion, it does the water does not absorb the pressure like air does, but moves with it. When the pressure wave hits your skin, it would hit the air-filled pockets of your body and instantly compressing the gases there, and probably resulting in ruptured lungs, blocked blood vessels and torn internal tissues.

What I did: 

I went to read up some articles when I found an article about An analysis of radar images that peered inside the polar ice caps of Mars shows that Earth's neighbour is coming out of an ice age that is part of an ongoing cycle of climate change

What I learned: 

I learnt that there might me a sign of life on mars because there is water which is in the form of ice.

Summary:

Unlike Earth, ice ages on Mars occur when its poles are warmer than average and frozen water is more stable at lower latitudes. Transitions between lengthy climate phases can leave telltale features in the ice, the research showed.

What I did: 

I went to read up some articles when I found an article about a superbug that resists all know medications. The case involved a 49-year-old woman in Pennsylvania whose urinary tract infection tested positive for a strain of E. coli that is resistant to the antibiotic of last resort for such infections, known as colistin.

What I learned: 

I learnt that there are many thing that happen around us but we do not know because we do not usually read up on articles and newspapers. We end up living like a frog in a well, only looking up at what we can see in front of us but oblivious to what is happening outside of places that we can see.

Summary:

A superbug resistant to all known medications has been found in the United States for the first time, raising new concern about the dwindling effectiveness of antibiotics

What I did:

I wanted to improve my writing by practicing, so I started to write weekly blogs. I also started to write compositions.

What I learned:

1. I improved on my vocabulary

2. I learnt that to write means that we have to think about our content. Since I started picking up book writing also, I started to be more creative and created my own stories.

3. I brushed up on my grammar and started being more conscious of my language use.

4. I realised that writing was fun

What I did: I read about the honest taxi driver.

What I learned:

Mr Khammat claimed he had been drinking with some of his business partners at Clarke Quay and was headed back to Marina Bay Sands, where had been staying.
But upon alighting from the taxi, he realised that he had left behind his laptop bag, which contained the cash. To his immense relief, Mr Khammat said he was greeted by the sight of a panting Mr Lee in the lift lobby at about 5am. Mr Lee shared that he had stopped at a petrol kiosk after dropping off Mr Khammat when he discovered the bag, and was shocked to discover the large amount of cash inside.While Mr Khammat said the cabby had not requested any reward, he decided to give Mr Lee $1,000 out of sheer appreciation for his unselfish act.Mr Khammat also learnt that Mr Lee was declared bankrupt in 2014 and had only just recently become a taxi driver.

Summary: Because of Mr Lee's honesty, everything was solved and everyone benifitted from it.

What I did: I read up on the recent news about the uprising of terrorism and found this article.

What I learnt: Four Bangladeshi workers were arrested as they were funding terrorism. It seemed that they were trying to fund ISIS. The were also trying to start a cause of terrorism in Bangladesh called ISB.

Summary: The 4 Bangladeshi workers whom were arrested were funding terrorism and ISIS. Their goal was to set up an Islamic State in Bangladesh for terrorism.
